Good deal?

Hi all,
Im finally looking at getting myself another bike, having been without one since moving last september.
I've been umming and arring about the GT aggressor XC 2 and XC 1. As I can get these at a fairly good price at halfords. XC1 for £460 odd.
I've now been offered the XC1 2008 model in mint condition for £300. Is this a good deal, or is it really worth spending the extra notes on the 2009 model?
Is there much of a difference between the 08 and 09 model as I cant find the spec for the 08 model on the net.
Its mainly for road and light track usage as there are no real off roads in peterborough, none that i have found yet anyway.

heya peeps, does anyone have a view on this as the item is on ebay and the clock is ticking?
I know its a sunday mind so most people are probably out chilling with their family and friends.
