Cracked carbon frame?

Whilst cleaning bike this week (Planet X SL pro carbon) i noticed a hair line crack on the seat stay wishbone about 2 inches above where the seat stays converge, the crack is about an inch long (can't do photos as the crack just won't show up) if you run your finger nail across the crack you can just feel it, the bike has never been crashed or had any large impact to it, hit the occasional potholes but nothing i'd consider to be out of the ordinary. Thing is if this was on a black bike you'd never see it, mine is white, so could it just be a crack in the laquer? or should i be concerned?

We had a guy come in who bought a carbon Carrera from Halfords.
He noticed a hair line crack in the frame (rear triangle)and took it back.He was told its normal and only a crack to the laquer and not to be alarmed.
A week later it gave way on a decent as the rear triangle broke apart from the bracing.
I'd always get it looked at properly.
If its still under warranty then take it back to the shop where you bought it and let them decide.

Yep - I'd get it looked at. Better safe than sorry
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Nice reasurring advice there eh Wappygixer?

But seriously, it does just sound like a crack in the laquer which can happen of course. No harm in getting it checkout though eh? I would in your shoes.

    You're always so helpful.

have a look at the crack with a torch close up - try and see if it is only skin deep...

Yeah it was the one ridden in the starting credits for the Tour de France on Channel 4 last year. The guy waited ages to get one in stock and then it snapped. He thought he'd got a bargain too.
It turned out pretty well in the end as Halfords bent over for him and bought him any bike he wanted pretty much.I cant remember what he got but it wasn't from Halfords, I seem to think he got a replacement from Wills wheels.
He was in a bit of a mess from the off though

planet x should hopefully take it back if they have a decent after care service, carbon can fail from time to time for no reason if it has voids in it. def get it looked at though
