Kona PHD vs Boardman ProLtd

Hi, im new 2 the world of bikes, we have just started the cycle2work scheme , as a result we r limited 2 purchasing a bike through halfords, and limited 2 £1000, at this price point im looking at a Kona PHD 2009 Vs the Boardman Pro Ltd, any advice is gladly received , many thx Lee

    they are very different bike so you need to have a good idea what you are going to do with the bike?

    Will you be commuting? if so how far each way?

    do you see youself doing long distances? 60 miles?

    Do you have any targets for your cycling

    My commute 2 work will be a round trip of 14miles, mostly b roads, ill just be cycling 2 save a few notes in petrol and help shift a lil of my extra middle age spread,lol

    Hey mate

    if i were you i'd go for a bike with drops if there isnt too much traffic and the roads are reasonable quality

    Then there baordman bikes are ruddy good value for money...

    if you do go for drops, and have 1000 quid to spend i would buy a kiron scandium. top bike.
  • With the Halfords scheme, you are not limited to what they stock, they can order in pretty much any bike you want. Some you can order through the store, others you have to go through their cycle to work office, so if you see something you like that they don't normally stock, don't be put off.
