having trouble changing tyres

Ok, the rim is a bontrager select disc (rear) and the tyre is an panaracer fire xc pro (not the one with the red ring, a slightly thicker version)
I can put other tyres on this rim quite easily and the tyre fits my other rear wheel pretty easy as well.
I want to put this particular tyre on this particular wheel as it's the best setup I have at the moment.
I've been trying for a good hour to get the tyre on the rim. there's just a small part left. that's just one side of the tyre. I haven't even got to the part where i put the innertube in and put the other side of the tyre in yet.
It's quite annoying cos the front one only took 5 mins.

Washing up liquid around the rim can help as a lube to fit tight tyres.
I've got most of the tyre bead in, there's just a small part.
i'll try the washing up liquid!
also when you say deepest section. is there a part of the bead that's slightly thicker than the rest as I didn't notice?0 -
