Are Saracen road bikes still going ?

Looking at a tasty Saracen road bike today, but can't get any online reviews for it and Saracen themselves dont have a website any more. Halfords and others sell loads of Saracen MTBs but seems since their restructure a couple of years back there is even less emphasis on the road stuff, so worried about frame warranty etc.

Any thoughts or rumours I should know about ?

Madison just bought them out - info is on the bikebiz website. There'll be a new range and site soon enough. Bike biz should help you out on the warranty info search too.

Was worried that myself actually, I bought a tour 3 end of last year, nothing wrong with it but it did come with a long warranty and I wondered what to do in the event of a problem as the website was gone.....

There has been a lot of issues recently regarding the brand name and possible offence.

Presumably part of the price Madison paid for the brand includes an allowance for warranty liabilities, and as they already have a relationship with the retailers you'd hope between them they would be able to honour the warranty. With Saracen's change from manufacturer to importer, and potential new frame suppliers under Madison any frame issues might be swapped out for a very different frame than the original.

Madison have agreed to honour any warranty issues on the current range of bikes so I'd go straight to them with any problems/questions.
  • Saracen will be back bigger & better than ever now Madison have got their hands on them as everything they touch usually turns to gold.

I have an 06 Zen 2 (along with an 09 Stumpy FSR Comp) and it`s a great bike, tough as old boots! The brand will rise from the ashes and will be great once more!!!

It's a medieval term for muslims, e.g. during the crusades. That's why there are pubs called the saracen's head.
