That time of year is upon us once more..!

GOOD LUCK to everyone taking part in the Bristol Bikefest tomorrow!!

Weather forecast is for heavy rain over Bristol :( so take care everyone!

Could make for a very interesting soggy event!!

Forget your spd's and take yer wellies!!

Personally, I am not riding this year (was hoping to!), but am looking forward to watching the new 'novice' 3 hour event full of fresh blood.

GOOD LUCK especially to the novices :) Don't worry, and HAVE FUN!

KK.

You may want to QR clamp a small brolly to your bars. A downpour is forecast for Bristol early Sunday until afternoonish.

    I repeat, a DOWNPOUR!

Maybe the novice event will be replaced with some rapids canooing!?

I'm doing my first race tomorrow, the weather forecast looks absolutely shocking! Was anybody there today? Did the expected rain turn up? What's the course looking like?

I was there today. I was on foot though. most of the riders were covered in mud. it didn't rain while I was there.

A few of the spectators (including myself) kept going across the finish line, so think we might have to be careful. same goes for a few other parts.

I did see 2 guys crash today. one guy came hurtling down the track at some speed and hit another rider. There was an almighty scream but that's not gonna put us off is it?

I too am doing my first race tomorrow. I'm not aiming to win, just do reasonably good.

    good luck for tomorrow.

have a lookout for my red fisher crawling around the track :D

I live next to Ashton Court and it's chucking it down right now. REALLY chucking it down.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

What about the course and the site? What condition (other than the obvious, 'wet'!) are they in? Just a bit damp, or really bog trodden?

And how SLIPPERY is the course/park at the moment?

Well it was a tad muddy wasn't it?

That section after the bombhole was like the Somme by the time I got to my third lap, my wheels were jamming up in the mud

Awesome experience though, I really enjoyed it! The cleaning up is not so fun...

you're bike doesn't look that muddy. I couldn't do the bombhole. i almost did. on my last lap i almost fell back down but luckily an air cadet was there to lift me to safety :D

The bombhole was ok, you just had to hang back from the bike in front and then really attack it, almost lost it third time round though. The bridge was worse I thought, it was so slippery I was sure I was going to stack it on the way down

Saw a pair of bikes on the back of a Vdub camper getting onto the motorway at Gordano and they weren't clean.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Sunday wasn't too bad a day. I've put a few videos onto U Tube if you fancy a look.
    (search for 'bristol bikefest 2009')

I have some nice snapshots of various Sunday riders too...

    :)

Here are a few quick pictures from Sunday 7th. I got a few hundred more!

I think the rider of 377 is very cute :) Anyone know her?

And the shot of four riders in a row looks very nice.
