Think both pretty similar but can get the fulcrums for £300 now so cheaper than the mavics.
Which would you choose and why?

My bike came with the 2007 Elites and they've been great. Am 100kg and done 10000km+ with no probs. Well pleased.

I've heard the Fulcrums are also excellent.

Not used Fulcrums, but got Elites on two bikes - never had any problems with them.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I've got the Fulcrum's, they are incredibly smooth and fast-rolling, only had them 3 months or so, so no long-term issues, but very happy so far.
Shod them with Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX tyres, excellent combo IMO.
