Got a new bike today as ive not had one for about 3 years now, went and got a carrera vulcan disk spec not the most expensive of bikes but what do u guys think ? anyway to the point ill be doing alot of long journey off&on road daytrip kinda things so im just wondering what stuff ill need ?

Got a spare inertube, bottle & cage, Mud Gaurds, Tools But i think il probably need some decent bike clothing and will probaby get one of them small pouches that sit under the seat to hold inertube etc. Also going to go get a small pump that i can attatch to the frame tomorow as i would like to have a rucksack free ride when i do go anywere.

Anythine else u guys think would be handy or important to have ?

The carreras are good bikes, i had a fury and it felt better to ride than my more expensive kona cindercone, the carreras also have very good spec for the price.

If you are going to be doing long trips i would suggest getting a camelbak as you can put everything you need in it and they are comfy to wear.( I have one for sale!! )

Also the pumps that attach to the bike aren't that great i spent around £30 on a topeak one and it is crap!!!!!

    Hope you enjoy the bike
  • Cheers m8, wasnt to sure about the camelback but mite go for 1 then, any pumps recomended by any1 if the small handheld 1ns aint upto much

Camelbacks are well worth it, you forget that there on your back after you get used to em.
I recommend the slim jim pump, it got 9/10 in an MBR magazine review. I bought one its nice and small and works really well. Think i paid £6.50 with £3 postage here http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDeta ... goryID=117

I agree about topeak mini pumps mine was shit and it cost £25!

Yeah i have a bikehut hydration pack. Just as good as a Camelback in my opinion.
Holds 2L of water and all my tools.
