Powerspline bottom bracket- replace or bin crank?

Need a new BB for my spare bike, as the truvativ powerspline BB fitted is at death's door after a pathetically small number of miles. (at a guess, approximately 1/50th of the mileage my old Shimano square taper did). So, I'm not mad keen on the idea of fitting another, the bike doesn't see a huge amount of use but it still seems a shame to fit another identical part.
I've googled around and there doesn't seem to be a better option for these cranks, but maybe I'm missing something there?
Alternatively... I can pick up the exact same Isoflow crank for £35 with the square taper BB, so only £20 more than the powerspline BB alone, and that'd leave me a spare set of rings. That seems a total, total no brainer decision, but is it? I wouldn't expect all that much from the supplied BB but at least I could fit a proper one in future.

The Powerspline, while quite stiff, is not very reliable.
Your second option seems better to me.0 -
Yeah, does seem that way (thanks btw, it was one of your posts that put me onto the square taper isoflows, pretty excellent budget option.).Uncompromising extremist0

My Powerspline Bottom Bracket on my commuter bike died after a few months ! wasn't particulaly happy with it ! I binned it and stuck an oldish XTR chainset and BB on that I had spare :-) .
Your idea sounds the best.
Oh and sold the chainset on ebay for near as dam it new cost price :-) hehe0
