Fork Upgrade

Hi all,
I have a 2004 Giant XtC-4 with a "shockingly" bad (excuse the pun) pair of Suntour XCP 75's. I have always been slightly unimpressed with them as they often bottomed out. I have not ridden it for a while as I now have a full-suss but would like to resurrect it for when my full suss is too much.
I am looking to upgrade and would appreciate any thoughts; I am not sure of the geometry but do you know if I could get away with putting a set of 100mm forks on?
Cheers

80-100mm will be fine. For upto 200 quid a top end Tora or lower Recon. Upto 200 quid the Reba.0

I would like to upgrade my forks sometime (with a budget max of £230)
I was thinking of either a RockShox Tora 318 U-Turn (£198)

or the Rockshox Tora Race Solo Air (£206)

Which is better for general XC for a GT Avalanche? Thanks0 -
If you like to hit things hard, the 318. if more XC, the Race.0
