Is it just me who thinks this is complete neglegance, all you need is one car to not see these abd they get a girder in the face.

I'm sure they would be pulled over if the police were nearby. You should send the photos to them. It's the same with the whole Boris Johnson/lorry episode last week. The lorry driver had fastened the heavy metal doors at the back of his vehicle with a "wire coathanger"! And they let him off witha caution after he almost wiped out a whole bunch of people....Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

I doubt that's legal, it should be marked. Is it a permanent part of the truck?... and no idea ...

On the second photo, I thought the girder was fixed to the pavement
It doesn't look like a permanent part for the trailer, and furthermore IIRC he's required by law to have a safety car trailing him if the load protrudes further than a certain distance (complete with amber flashing lights). It definitely looks bloody dangerous and I wouldn't like to be behind him.0 -
Blimey - prob easier to see when its moving - but yeah on stills - hard to work it out !
Should be flagged up I reckon ! You have the number plate after all.0 -
Probably a bad angle i was fiddling with my phone from my bag and trying to get the shots off to before the lights changed of a bus came.
It was a flatbed lorry and this frame was plonked on top so not part of the lorry, i took it in camberwell and the frame was wabbling all over.
Not good, I'm half tempted to report it.0 -

Ah but who to ?0

Nevermind. Just found the distance to be 1.8m, and that looks less than that.
I thought it was a lot less than that.0 -
If you called the police about it they'd tell you who to get in touch with or possibly do it themselves. It might end up being too much hassle though if he turns out to be within his rights and its just 'one of those things'.0

Just email the photos to the police, if they come back to you, you can explain more to them. For all you know, they may have other reports about the same lorry from other people, or it may have caused accidents in the past. If nothing comes of it, then no skin off your nose....Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Yeah it really should be, i mean it is pretty hard to spot to be honest. I know its a bit over the top, and the guy was driving fine, but another day and another truck could be different.
On another note i was on top form today, i kindly informed a bmw driver he had a flat, he was rather grateful.0 -
