Hey

These tyres look really fast, I commute during the week and cwmcarn xc and afan on some weekends.

Would these be ok?

Whats the wear like if you have had them ?

I'm running supersonic 2.2s and they are fast, only for the dry though. Wear's good so far.
The protection might be ok for the road, but have you thought about going the spare wheel route?

I was looking around this week for info on the Mountain Kings and this is what Continental had to say:

The Supersonic models are made with the performance conscious racer in mind. We recommend that weekend warriors, interested in routes and adventure rather than grams and watt values, use our Protection version

I was looking at those, but so expensive.

They are like 30.00 each arnt they, or more?

I got some panny fire xc, but find them slow on the road, and great off road.

The MKs and the RKs are pretty much the same price. The RK is aimed at XC/marathons whereas the MK is intended for trail/AM use.

If you want a fast RK (the Supersonic) it will cost you =]

You have to watch the wear on the supersonics. They're made from softer rubber so they grip well but the wear super fast...especially if you venture onto tarmac.
Best idea is to be another set of wheels to trash commuting (or like me another bike :-) ). Recommend Schwable Marathone Plus tyres....bit weighty but I doubt their ever puncher !...ha saying that I bet I get a puncture riding home tonight lol!

Very pleased with my £15 Race Kings from Wiggle, the bike is so much faster, the rear seems to be wearing quickly (I'm a heffalump), the front is like new, that's after a couple of hundred miles over the past few weeks.

I've had no problems with grip on any surface except for loose packed tracks when I think any tyre would struggle.

They have reduced my 12 mile training ride from 1hr 7mins in winter on Conti Verticals to 51mins.

Found that the tyre pressure of 45psi is just right for all conditions.

The RaceKing on roads are fast are both speed and wear.

They are the XC tire of the moment loving everything except the really wet and muddy stuff and they love low pressure im on 22psi front 25psi rear tubeless with my RK 2.2 SS
