Anthem x3 or specialized fsr expert?

I'm looking at getting my first full suss xc bike, looking at spennding around £1100. I've tried a few and narrowed it down to
Giant anthem x3
Specialized fsr xc expert
I'll mainly be using it for the weekend blast on single track and will need it to me a good climber.
I've test ridden the spesh but haven't been able to try the anthem.
I'll also want use it for the occasional commute to work, I normally use my road bike but I can take some shortcuts that are mostly off road.
Any advice on which is the better bike would be most appreciated.
Also if there are any other better options around the £1100 mark
