Holy sh** rim blew off

I got my new handbuilt open pros/DT DB spokes/105 hubs and put the tyres on and pumped them up, they were at 110 psi and the tyre burst in my ear, then i realised that the top part of the rim had ripped off. Now my ears are ringing...ouch.

It's not all that uncommon if the rim is worn out or if it's been scored by a bit of glass stuck in a brake block, but if it was a new rim there's something wrong - take the wheel back.
