Hi guys
Wondering if you can help me make a choice before the weekend is here. Need a new bike and I have selected these:
- Rockhopper Expert
- Marin Fire Trail
- Scott Scale 40
- Trek 8500
I've based my selection on a number of things but i'm no expert so i'd appreciate any advice. I'm looking for something thats tuff on the dirt roads but good for everyday use too.
I have my heart semi-set on the Marin cos it looks gorgeous but I never hear anything about it- how come?
Cheers

Any chance you can go and see the bieks physically, have a sit on them, see what they feel like?0

I can't for a while cos i'm kinda stuck work wise (long story) but i've been putting it off for a while and i really need to order asap
thanks0 -
if you'll have time to ride it once purchased, surely you can find time to at least sit on them to make sure the size is right.
dunno about specific compoentry on the models listed but all make good frames and usually offer good vfm so it really comes down to which one;
fits best
rides best with you on it
looks best (don't underestimate this)
is the shiniest.Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0 -
ok cool but..
if you did have a choice and had to buy one - which one and why?0 -
Id buy the Orange.... because it is much nicer than all of the above put together
(even ExeterSimons Whyte bike aint that right)
:-)0 -
Mr Wu is right
But I'd buy the Whyte 905 instead.Whyte 905 (2009)
Trek 1.5 (2009)
Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp (2007)0 -
both those look good but can't do.. im stuck with choosing from evans (cycle scheme issue)
so... :?0 -

haha..! no way man 40% off! i just realised the marin is out too cos evans dont do those either.. crap
i would go for the trek if it wasnt painted in 'mug me' white
i might have to go for the specialized.. and how come genesis are so expensive?0
