have you not got them the wrong way round?

whats the travel on the top one? 80mm or less?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Yeah, 80mm, same as this years.0
-
Got a feeling the HR may be a 29er too, but details are scarce.
Yeah, the bent seat tube looks like a silly idea.0 -

What a great idea, now you can't lower your seatpost by more than an inch or two if you wanted to
TBH i think that they are looking for something to make them different and got it wrong."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

tbh the top one looks like a tarted up commuter bike and the other is just plain boring, spesh really annoy when they do this because all their bikes look the same
where is the imagination, giant are the same and they should both take lead from the likes of trek, lapierre and start giving their bikes decent paintjobs and graphics, having said that the sx trail and bighit look superb, but it would be nice to see similar levels of attention on the more xc orrientated bikes0 -

I prefer a sleeker, dumbed down look than some over painted, garish paint job lol.0 -
ewwww, those forks are the thinnest, flexiest looking things ive seen. nice graphics though, now your darts can look like sids....
hideous bikes, and they will ride like specializeds.... badly.0 -
fair enough
but considering this an extreme sport, surely our rides should extreme rather than looking like big turds with wheels
bmx, skateing and surfing have this dialled so why havent we????0 -
I wouldn't say XC is extreme! Black, understated is best - like my Zaskar ;-)0
-
i meant as a mtbing as a whole :P
no if a bike aint bright im not interested, ive had enough of the whole stealthy black thing
bring back purple and have a ne wave retro feel for abit0 -
DOn't mind purple though lol.0
-
yer i hope it comes back cos it looks rad on some bikes,0
-
hmm... prefer understated if you ask me
in the vain hope that the tw*t bike-stealers get all starry-eyed and magpied by the shiny red/orange/green/blue efforts, rather than my dull grey non-shiny girl

dont let them thievin w****** dictate what ur ride looks like!!!!!!
i think its better to look at you rbike and go "wow i want to go for a ride on my amazing bike" rather than thinkin "oh god have i really got to ride that"
mind you someone always will have a flashier bike than you .....0 -
Both of those are 29er'sSpecialized Enduro SL Pro Carbon

I thought so too... The wheels look ridiculous on the frame, which then makes the whole bike look stoopid
Looks like they've tried to copy Lynsky's design, and got it horribly wrong... Hideous! Either that, or they are both 12'' frames, using micro derailuers!
8)Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
Fix it 'till it's broke0 -
I think that is common of most 29ers. Ridiculous (looking). But as you all know, looks aint my main concern. Fecking ugly though lol.0
-
yes they're both 29ers. And it does look like they've copied the ti inbred kink in the seat tube. I don't know why people are suddenly complaining about the bend, most got so over excited about the on one they had to chage their pants.
But why do they keep putting bikes out in food poisoning brown?Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
Who are you calling inbred?0 -

no...it is not an extreme sport.....sport stops becoming extreme when you can't get your car parked at the trail because everyone is there!Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.
H.G. Wells.0 -
solution ..... get there earlier
i think bike companies need to be abit more daring with their designs, as brands with good looking bikes, e.g. trek, commencal, kona do so well but i guess people buy spesh, gt and giant because of the names and reliability and ignore the boring looks0 -
Glad you didn't say Cube - I think they look vile. Looks like someone loaded a cannon full of stickers and paint and fired it at a frame.
I'd take reliability and perfromance over looks ;-)0 -

i think some of the cubes look alrite actually0
-
+1 Lawman!
I agree with you Super about it being FAR more important that the bike actually rides well, but that's certainly not a problem that I've had with mine (a Ltd Race) - it goes like the wind, and since swapping the Easton EA30 bars with a Ritchey WCS Carbon rizer, it's spot on.
As for looks, the painted ones are a bit garish for my tastes, but I reckon the black anodized ones (like mine) look great...0 -
no i like the painted ones. but come on my dream bike is something anodised purple with white rims and shizz and lime green graphics ....... im so cool0
