after realising i needed a healthier lifestyle as a knock on effect of having a stressful job within the civil service, i've recently bought a defy 3.
initial impressions are great (it really is a great bike for the price)
But i'm already thinking about improvements.
any pointers/advice on areas to focus on would be appreciated.
i should mention that i've already bought some look SPDSL pedals (which, incidentally caused an embarrassing collapse at the traffic lights last night, being an old skool clips and straps biker
TIA

What tyres are on it? That's normally a relatively cheap upgrade - Michelin Pro 3's will give a big improvement if you've got the standard Kenda's on.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

Good choice. I ride an SCR Ltd and also had a Roubaix Comp (almost £1800) but there really isn`t a vast difference in the ride quality for the £1200 difference. As Slow points out, tyres are a good first upgrade although the Kendas are ok. I put on some Vittoria Rubinos in black/blue, look great and roll very well. You can pick these up for under £9 at Ribble (although you need to spend over £50 in total to get them for that). I also put a Charge Spoon saddle on for £20 but again the Selle Royal Viper is ok but looks/feels cheap!2017 YT Jeffsy 27 AL Comp

Mothyman, I looovvved my 09 Roubaix but unfortunately had to sell due to financial reasons. It was a stunning bike in every way and I will buy one again when able. I sold her on ebay for £1200! Lost almost £600 in 4 months!!2017 YT Jeffsy 27 AL Comp
