A fictional situation in a small Ristorante in Roma, Italy which lines Sunday's Time Trial Cousre.

Mama- "Stupido! Alberto! Why oh why did you trip over the case of Da Luca Primitivo
Vino and accidentally throw the Olivio Oil out on to the road. You almost hit Mr Di Luca on his Time Trial bike. Ah, look at the Telly; that silly Russian has fallen off his bike; he worse than Sigor Rasmussen. He need bumpers on that bike!! Ha Ha!"

Was there a bit of Italian foul play??
Always hard for a non Italian to win the Giro. Hmmm...

    He was the first time he rode it, the crafty devil went off and rode it after about the 20th rider had set off, presumably didn't like his TT bike on it and swapped over.

    He was out on the course previewing it when other riders were setting off? Is that allowed?

    No idea, but I have it on film if it's disputed, he came right past us.
