    Very nice!

Always liked the look of scotts and particularly the scales.

Any idea of weight? Have you had it weighed?

Have to admit though I think a bike as good as this deserves matching rotors and now that your trek frame is gone I think a set of gunsmoke rotors is in order

too much spent the mo but they will come lol, it weighs around 23 lbs at present

23 lbs, that's pretty damn light!

I'm building a custom bike myself at the minute but with a steel frame and tora coil fork my aim is under 30lbs. However I reckon with a lighter fork and frame I wouldn't be too far off 25lbs which is pretty reasonable.

Are you planning to race it at all?

that's really nice :) loving the white fox forks! I wish my XC bike was as much of a beast as that! mine weighs about 32lbs, but still fun to ride, and that's all that matters right? Now go out and get her nice and mucky!

All the white stuffs being replaced slowy to keep in keepin with the frame Gaz, the frame was £322 which I think is great value for a well made and well light combo-the rest of my money will upgrade components over time. time for a change...

I think its just the white i dont like mate and i think you could have picked a better make than syncros for hardware i would have sold you my wcs carbon stuff if you wanted it rather than let a mate suffer lol.....

And like i said cut the cables bud you can do two bikes with the length you have lol lol !!
I sposse the frame colour aitn bad and it may grow on me prob when you get the res sorted.

    Keep me posted

Oh dear, errrrr what's wrong with Syncros gear then, I found it to be preety well made etc, i'd be interested to hear of any problems with em :?

I chose the seat post/bars due to the bike radar write ups which seemed very favourable:

re the brakes-I love a bit of length so they stay the same.

The most important part though is that it rides fantastically which to me is the be all and end all of a MTB, it weighs tiny amounts as the new frame came in at 3.5lbs, the gear on it is working perfectilly as you'd expect form XTR/XT. So i am over the moon with the finished effect.

There aint anything wrong with Syncros mate its just my opinion maybe i am just a brand snob lol lol it does look ok actually and you ar eright the most important things to want from a bike, you have them already and thts the weight is good and low plus you have good components working smoothly and and tht combo makes it ride nicely.

Fair play to you for making it in short space of time, p.s( if i had known the trek frame was gona end up going for under 200 i would have bought it lol) oh well never mind..

Here we go then (i'm a bit scared cos speed king might rip it apart again lol) pics of my now more colour coded scott scale 40, gone down the gold theme, have also gone a bit mad on Ti bolts which are top quality, replacing rotor bolts, shifter bolts, brake caliper and lever mount bolts...i'm almost there, just the stem and that didnt arrive today due to the postal strike...

    Looks really great now!

Out of interest, how are you finding the fox fork?
I'll be looking to upgrade my tora for sometime in 2010 but not sure whether to go down the Reba route or the Fox route.

    What model/weight is that one?

depends on what cable you have, either you use wire cutters for normal brake cable or you have to get park tools to sell you some special ones for braided hoses? \\\\\\the whole actual process isnt to long though, couple of hours tops. \let me know how yo get on though and will talk on msn if you get probs.

Very nice! Looks really good now, and the golds pretty subtle and not too blingy.

Gold seatpost collar may be in order...

jamesst, what size diameter is your seatpost? I notice that your clamp is 34.9.

Just trying to work out if I can get away with fitting a smaller size seat post clamp...
