Air Fork - first use.....

Hi All,
I just got onto my bike for a first time this Sunday and I am not sure if something is wrong with my fork as it's new for me.
I have never used air forks before and now having Reba Race on my bike I am not sure if everything is fine or something is wrong? I am talking about the sound it makes. The best example – Let’s say I am going fast downhill and at the end there is small jump I have to make to avoid some obstacles. I need to lift the front wheel etc... So when I push it down just before lifting it to the air it makes quite loud noise. It sounds like it’s releasing the air or something but it’s quite disturbing. A little bit like mechanical noise, I am not sure – it just doesn’t sound right – but again it might be because I am new to these type of forks.
Could somebody help me please and explain me what that might be and if that’s normal.
Thank you in advance.

Perfectly normal.
It's just the sound of the damper working.0 -
Ufff, Thank for that..... Every time I hear that noise I am scared that something is wrong with it and it's brand new. Thanks again.0

it's your steed taking a breath before it launches into space - don't you do that too?

The 'pssshhhh' noise you hear is the oil in the damper moving through the valves. Try adjusting the er... adjustments and you'll hear the noise change. If it was a metallic 'clunk' or grinding noise, then something is probably wrong if you can't adjust it out.
But the squishy noise is safe!Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
Fix it 'till it's broke0
