Hi
Dilemma - off to coed-y-brenin in July and not sure which bike to take. Choice of Scott Genius 10 or Scott Ransom 20.
Been riding hard for the last 18 Months - mainly XC hence the Genius but for the last 4 months working on more singletrack and 'silly stuff' hence the Ransom.
Would welcome any thoughts from those that have been there.

Hi, I ride CYB a lot as I live about 10 miles down the road. Most of the newer sections are quite fast and flowing and so I'd have thought a Ransom would be overkill, though I've never ridden anything "bigger" than a Giant NRS there. The start is the roughest section really, after that it's long climbs and fast descents for most of the way. I usually ride a hardtail as it helps with the climbs but some sections are a bit much on it for sure. If it were me I'd pick the Genius. Hope this helps.0

Genius, the Ransom is complete overkill and will take a lot of the fun away imo.0
