Big Lad over the bars this morning

Junction of Burntwood Lane and Trinity Road - Big lad on a merlin MTB canes it away from the lights, big crunch as his gears slip and he is catapulted over the bars landing in a heap in the middle of the road.
Heartening to see about 6 or 7 cyclists leg it over there to help him out, not a one ignored the incident. I untangled him from his bike and shifted it out of the road, two others picked him up and walked him to the path. He looked a bit shaken from the adrenaline dump but no bump to the head, so left him to it with a couple of others still there.
If you read this mate, hope you're ok.
I had a similar incident about a year ago when I broke a crank bolt, they came off and I was pitched over the bars in front of all the traffic, not nice. Look on the bright side, at least you didn't damage your bike.
To the van driver who went by beeping his horn whilst he was sat looking dazed on the pavement. You are a knob.

Not climber, not sprinter, not rouleur

Always something to be aware of when nipping out at a junction - I've had a chain snap once in that situation and I've always been careful since.0
