The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

  • that ones not on there :[
  • check out BETD ( www.betd.co.uk ) and get the number for your hanger and price, most of the online bike shops carry betd hangers,
also allows you to find what frames you share a hanger with!
you can buy Kona hangers through the kona store for 9 euro's each at the mo!

Cheapest I got mine was Stiff...
    09 - Santa Cruz Heckler
    03 - Trek 8500
    95 - P7 (Dead, but I loved it)
Year dot - Alpine Stars CR300 - Still going strong...
  • OK so ive spoke to Trek and the one i need (stated above) is out of stock and not being made WORLDWIDE ... so unless theres a guy somewhere that can make me one im screwed and will have to buy a new frame alltogether!

Anyone know a guy like that (Cheshire / Staffs area?)

Or have a really cheap DH frame that happens to be amazing?

Can you tell im a little annoyed :[

  • its a Trek Diesel 2003/4.

Ive spoken to Trek and they cant get me one as they are sold out everywhere and BETD can make one but over £100 i went to them personally and gave them the hanger to look at. Whats warranty like with Trek? Is it lifetime? Myt just snap the bloody thing and send it to them lol

Your best bet is to go through all the hangers on betd and find what is the best match, preferably with a bigger top piece that way if the bolt holes don't line up you can drill another.

Or you could buy a piece of alloy and make one yourself, shouldn't be too much hassle.

They sell plenty of alloy on ebay just make sure it's a decent grade for obvious reasons.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

  • well i thought about that. Cos it doesnt need to be complicated at all, just needs the holes in the right place and one of them tapped for the thread. Just proving to be a pain in the ass!

you are either stump up the cash or ring round all the Trek dealers to see if anyone has one in stock.

there are other hanger makers out there but to find one for the diesel will be fun.

  • haha im past the stage of fun now! Ive been speaking to Trek and they have checked their systems worldwide and have none anywhere. I have just emailed them back. Most companies would still have spare bits for a 5year old bike surely??

They seem quite helpful anyway so i shall see what they say next
