Madone 5.5 and Fizik Aliante.

Recently purchased a Trek Madone 5.5 (from a formum post on bike radar) - which was a great buy, fantastic bike. Have been riding it for a few weeks, and having tweaked the fit, feeling really good on it, apart from the stock bontrager saddle not really working with my anatomy.
So having asked around, I really pushed the boat out and bought a Fizik Aliante saddle with carbon rails. I've just tried to put the saddle onto the bike, and the side mounting system on the madone seat cap seems to be incorrectly sized for the carbon rails on the fizik, the diameter looks about 3-4 mm too big!
Just wondered if this was a known limitation of the trek (can't find any such evidence on the net, and my local dealer was none the wiser) or is there something I can do to get the two to marry up?
