    I have a Planet-X, fantastic.

Ribble give you more options on components.

Ribble looking like slightly better value at the moment (though Planet-X have frequently changing offers, some of which are excellent).

Planet-X build (or supply unbuilt for -£100), very quick. 4 days in my case.

Ribble build times very slow (probably more to do with limited supply of popular frames), some have been waiting months.

Planet-X service 1st rate, emails usually answered within 2 hours, always helpful. Planet-X invite you to return the bike if you aren't happy for any reason (very unlikely to happen).

Ribble - no answer, ever, to various emails, rude and unhelpful on the phone. Evasive when asked about warranty (no straight answer). Some evidence of poor service handling aftersales problems and returns.

Guess why I ended up with the Planet-X!

To ride, my P-X is as comfy as my steel audax bike, the bike is light, particularly helped by the light and reliable model B wheels. It climbs like a demon!

Agree with the above comments regarding Ribble and warranties/after sales. Don't expect to get any joy from them if you have a problem. They are cheap, but you're pretty much on your own if anything breaks or is not up to spec.

Great. Just sent some pedals back to Ribble that were threaded wrong. Time to start chasing then!

I've tried time and time again to get in touch with Ribble to buy stuff from them. But I've never done so, simply cos I just have never been able to get them to answer the damn phone. PX on the other hand could barely be more helpful. I'm sure Ribble gear is good, but if they can't be bothered talking to me, I'd be nuts to send them my money, eh?

Have to say, having just got a bike from Ribble, that service was fine, bike on time, I had several e-mails (thanks Alan) & they promptly changed my order when I decided to change to compact/smaller cranks.
Can't make any comment on after sales service but my order was handled well, communication fine as stated above, and the bike rides great.
Planet X - tried to use their bikebuilder system several times, but if any one component is out of stock (in my case, tyres !) then it will not allow you to proceed & you can't get a finished price. Gave up in the end.
    My knees hurt !
