when i tried out my bike last week, the guy in the shop did say, have you used hydro disc brakes before, if not, be careful... so i was Ned Flanders: “You were bicycling two abreast?”

My old brake pads were quite worn, so I really had to slam the anchors on to stop my not inconsiderable weight, particularly on downhills. I suspect I may have a few hairy moments as I get used to the new stopping power :shock: I ride like a girl

Don't be slammin no anchors, I'd never used these new fangled brakes before either and the avid elixir brakes on my bike just amazed me first ride out. I find feathering the brakes in- between the rougher parts at well timed intervals, really does get the job done.Stumpjumper fsr comp £1,600
