Its been in my garage for a few years now, never ridden it, as far as i can tell it has always been white and red, just someone has stuck a Shimano sticker over the name/model of the frame, it is 6061, and the serial is MT81205083, never built it, just wondering if anyone can help identify the age, model etc of this frame?, maybe help me even source some parts to get the suspension part built up again?, it is literally the frame and swinging arm nothing else, thanks in advance!.

It would just be nice to see a picture of this exact bike and colour made up, the parts to build it are looking expensive!

    take off the shimano sticker?.

Based on the stickers Its an older xcr model 1999 (the first year). I would guess a xcr2000 or xcr3000. The higher end models had a different seat mast arrangement

I think you are right mate, looks more like a very early xcr, i just cant find the same type webbing that is on this frame (that is just under the seat tube to top tube) on any other bike at all, the shimano stickers are clearish, cant see anything written underneath them.

i saw someone down the local beach carpark on the weekend on an I-drive that was All red but looked the same shape as that!
didnt pay any attention to it after that as he was riding around a bit!

have to admit, i htought it was a supermarket bike like my old Y framer at first and was pesently shocked when i saw it wasnt!
