Blackburn or Joe Blow track pump

I need a pump to keep my fleet running - sounds so grand when you put it like that!!

I have both Presta and Schrader valves in use so obviously need a pump that will tackle both well. I also need a pressure gauge.

Any thoughts on the above options please? Don't really want to spend more than £30.

Cheers

David

Don't go for a Blackburn.... they are shoddy! If you are buying from a bike shop you'd be looking at about £33 for the Joe Blow that will go up to road bike pressures. The Joe Blow Max (£25) starts to get really hard work when you get to 80psi

I have a joe blow sport, works fine upto 120psi, havent needed to go any higher, not especially light being made from steel.

Nothing wrong with Blackburn track pumps and the rebuild kits are easily available, my AT5 is certainly better quality than a Joe Blow :p I'd look at a Lezyne or SKS one at your budget although the cheap one from Planet-X is supposed to be decent to.

Can you elaborate? Just ordered a Blackburn AirTower 2 after my Joe Blow Sport fell apart - if there's a genuine problem with the Blackburn I'd be grateful to know what it is. I went for it partly down to the lifetime warranty (which I've heard they are normally good at honouring) and the fact that you can rebuilt the heads etc when wear and tear?
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I've had a Joe Blow Sport for a few years and it's worked fine. Then I knocked over onto a very hard floor and the plastic collar atop the main tube broke. The pump is all but useless now and I cannot find a spare which is disappointing.

OK, I got a few years out of it, and I was happy with it, but the 'accident' could have happened on Day 1. I'm looking elsewhere too...maybe an SKS.

I have a cheapo Beto one which cost about £15 off eBay. Takes a little bit of effort to get to 120PSI but is well built and does both Schraeder and Presta.
I'll never be buying anything blackburn again, I have one of their Delphi computers (which wasn't cheap) and that's crap. Also one of my mates had a light set of theirs which packed in after < 1 yr. They weren't cheap either.
