I saw pictures from mondays giro stage in which astana riders seemed to have plastic bags wrapped round there necks :!: Any ideas why :?:

    they were supposed to contain ice to keep the riders cool, bit like the Garmin ice vest's they have worn in the past.

    They were full of helium. A failed attempt to make the riders lighter so they could get up those big climbs easier. :D

    Are they all due to take up audax after July and getting used to carrying route sheets?

    More likely to be a tobacco pouch if they were getting in training for some audaxes...
