What rim?? New to road bikes so need all the helpI can get!

After spending ages trying to source a new Aksium rim or find out if the '08 Ksyrium Equipe rim would fit and drawing a blank, I think best to just build up some regular wheels. I'm going to build up something on either the new 105 or old Ultrgra hub but I don't have a clue what rim to go for. I'm thinking around £30 should get something reasonable, but what do I go for? Help!
