I've recently started riding, im currently doing about 16 miles
I want to enter a 100 mile tour next year, but i was wondering how long i can expect riding 100 miles to take?

A lot of variables, such as how much training you do between now and then, the weather, terrain etc. On a nice day it can take 6/7 hours, on a bad day it can be 8/9

How long are you taking to do 16 miles at the minute? An hour? Then 6-7 hrs is a reasonable goal but as already mentioned, If your current 16 miler is practically flat, you'll be slower still on a more hilly route.

If however I've misinterpreted your question and you mean how long before you can get to 100 miles, then do a long ride once a week and add 10% (ish) to the distance for the following week and so on.

    On a Road bike, and if it's flat-ish -

    For a lesser-trained but reasonbly fit person ~ 7 - 8 hours
For a moderately trained and fit person ~ 6 hours
For a well-trained and conditioned and very fit person ~ 5 hours

If however it's a hilly Sportive you're reffering to then the times will be quite a bit longer. You can always check out 100-miler Sportive results to get an idea of very hilly-100 ride times.
