budget bike

hi, ive never owned a road bike and would like to buy one, but money is very tight at the moment, leaving me with a budget of around £100. so i was hoping someone could shed some light on what i should/could get for this. i dont really know much about road bikes, but do know quite alot about mountain bikes, so any info is good. i was kinda hoping i could get a oldish bike with average spec, is that possible do you think? anyone got anything suitable? its not going to do any real massive rides, bout 60miles i think would be around the maximum.

For £100 you're going to be very limited for choice, almost certainly its going to be second hand. Best places to look are Ebay, Cash Converters, local classifieds, car boots etc. For your money there's only two things you have to bare in mind, does it fit me and is it roadworthy? Other than that you're in the dark I'm affraid with that sort of budget.
