Hi peeps,

I would love to get one of the 'automatic / adjust-on-the-fly' seatposts that have been mentioned in other posts, but dont have sufficient wedge

What I do need tho is a quick release seat post clamp for my Boardman. The seatpost size is 27.2mm, but not sure what the seat tube outside diameter is because ive got no verniers to measure it with.

Does anyone know what size qr clamp I will need?

And can anyone suggest any suitably cool looking, effective and reliable qr clamps?

Thanx in advance pals,
Si

have a look at the current clamp. the size is normally on the bottom. or take the front mech off and see. but as it has a front mech and the seat tube is not shaped you will know that the seat clamp will be one of the three mech band sizes. So see which it is closest to.

It's maybe printed / etched on the seatpost collar that's already on the bike. You might have to take the collar off to find it though.

Edit - I can't type as fast as Nick :(

Can't help with sizes- you don't need a caliper to check it though, a ruler will do! But I'm sure someone will recommend hope clamps in a minute. I don't really like mine, it was always backing itself out until I threadlocked it but it's still a faff. I actually preferred the cheap one that came with my scandal frame, it was basic but it worked better I think.

    Cheers guys,

Ive had a quick looky. The current clamp has '34' on the underside. That seems a bit big if the seatpost diameter is 27.2?

    hmmm.
will have a look at the front mech after or take the seat post off and measure with a trusty rule.

Drinking wine at the mo (its my birthday, im not a wino lol), so my measuring might not be very accurate lol

Thanx for taking the time to answer chaps :D
