New anthem X1 bike of the year(24lbs) and X0 (22 n a bit lbs) are lighter but the X0 is £3500 i thinks, my mate has an Trance Advanced custom build (pic below) with full xtr, crossmax sl and other bits n bobs that comes in around 24lbs but its cost him a few quid. Frame is heavier than the 09 alu anthem x's but is a bit stiffer.
Pros - fast, light. maestro linkage - price at pauls cycles (frame retails at £2200 i believe on its own)
Cons - only 6mm more travel compared to new anthem x's, not as 'racey' as new anthem x's (slightly diff geometry), wouldn't like to see it if it got 'dinged'.
But its nearly a £1k off..tempting..personally i'd get an X1 (test ridden one and they are fricken rapid) if you want a 100mm full sus, should have my X0 frame next week.

yeah gotta +1 for the anthem x
incredibly good, just one of those bikes that makes you smile no matter what, go test ride one now.
however i was looking at that bike before i got my anthem, went for the anthem purely because i hadnt ridden the trance advance and couldnt find one locally. but on paper and visually they look nice.0 -
Cheers guys, the primary use is for Enduro andthe Merida Marathon events next year once im back on the bike after knee surgery and the Trek is heavy for these events even though iv shedded some weight off so i will use that for hammering the trail centres etc.0

Did a bit more digging, the Trance advanced (next model up) comes in at about 25lbs, so id say the advanced 1 will be more in the 26lbs area judging from the kit on it....Anthem X1 all the way..save 2lbs in weight..haggle the price..i could of had one for £1950...but opted for £750 for new X0 frame instead..i belive giant are just about to send out new ones aswell as there seemed to be a bit of a shortage of bikes for a while.0

I've got a Trance Advanced 1. Not weighed it, but it feels a good bit lighter than my Anthem 2. It's a lot more comfy on long rides too. Very comfy as an all day bike. Definitely feels like it has more travel than it actually has. Excellent build quality and great spec. I think the stealth look is awesome too. The Mavic 317's have stood up perfectly well to a torrent of abuse. basically, I love mine!!0
