Giant vs GT.....

Hi Guys, I'm looking to buy a new hardtail for myself and dont want to spend any more then £400 (preferably less!!). Just for general woodland use nothing too extreme.
I've found 2 bikes that are old models and therefore are within budget. What do you guys reckon...i've read many reviews favouring the GT, but i'm not a huge fan of the shape of the frame and i'm not sure how it compares to the Giant! Are there any other bikes that are better for this kinda money. I'd be really grateful if you could give me some advice. Thanks!

I bought that very same GT, and am really impressed with it. Looks better in the flesh than on the pictures in my opinion.
Feels very well built (compared to my old Carrera anyway..) and also feels a fair bit faster as well.
Can't recommend it highly enough. Obviously I can't speak for the Giant.0 -
Have you tried them both yet?
I recommend the GT as well, after riding my GT previously owning a Specialized I have to say that it feels so much better and faster. Also the crank on the GT is better from my experience, the truvativ in the lower end get a lot of bottom bracket problems.0 -
Thanks for the replies guys. I am yet to actually try and see both the bikes in the flesh, i'll be doing that once i track down a shop that sells them! I had a feeling the GT would get the thumbs up.
Any ideas of online retailers that specialise in sellng last years stock?0 -
