Preload dials

I have two preload dials, like the ones in the picture (not the red lock out switch)
rst_gila_pro_tnl_110.jpg

I have one either side, the left one I can only fully rotate a few times whereas the right one I can rotate a lot more, before it finally stops and can't go further.

Do they adjust different springs in the different sides? It may be obvious but like in the picture above, when the fork has two different adjusters I wondered how it worked, and if by not having the dials rotate evenly it could make the springs uneven.

Thanks

RST Gila Pro (as pictured) but instead of the red lockout it has two of the other (grey) preload dials.

It came stock but doesn't seem to be the specific '08 or '09 model, as both dials are the same.

on the RST they dont do much anyway so i would not worry.

if you are concerned take the top cap off and give things a clean.

    Thanks.
When turning both either to the extreme left or right there is actually quite a noticeable difference, it's just hard if I want a setting in between, be.cause the right one turns a lot more

all you should notice is a change in Sag the forks should feel the same.

as Sonic has implied are you sure they are both preload?

    which version are they?

There is definitely a noticeable change with the settings when J hopping...

As they came stock, there were no separate manuals and al the specs online just say 'RST GIla Pro 120mm' but after finding a PDF guide I guess it would be the 'T' model (in the PDF there is no 'T8', but perhaps it is?)

There are DEFINITELY two dials, the same, on either side both labeled 'Preload'.

The fork is white, as in the picture below.

Just set the sag by adjusting them and ride.

    what is the bike?

if it is the T fork then all it does is set the sag by compressing the spring.

the spring rate does not change so the fork should feel the same.
