Don't you hate it when that happens

Had to buy a new helmet and gloves which cost me £50, better safe than sorry I suppose.

One of my biggest nightmares is forgetting something like that, shoes (I ride SPD) would be my biggest mare.

Forgot my Camelback resevoir last time I went to wales, cost me £ 25 for a spare :( .
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Yeah it's a total pain in the arse but I was rushing about this morning and only realised once I got out the car at Glentress.
  • Forgetting a helmet must be the worst, fortunately I've not done this!

To be honest, I could live without gloves tho..
    Do it.

2 weeks back I forgot my sunglasses and if I had a dollar for every little flying mofo insect that got me in the eyes I'd be rich.
I've also set off on a ride with no tools, patches, CO2 inflator or spare tube. The gods were looking after me that day, no incidents at all..

I once managed to take two left shoes with me... Rode with one left shoes clipped in, and one trainer uncomfortably on a SPD pedal!

That could have potentially been very painful....

I was travelling up from East Anglia to the North east last year for the Great North Bike Ride. Was about 2 hours into the journey when realised I'd left my seat post and saddle at home. How to make a long drive even longer!!!

Pack the night before when you're not rushing...

I always worry I'm going to forget my 15QR axle... :-/ Rule to self is ALWAYS return it to the fork before you do anything else. DOn't even put it down on the ground for 1 second.

I got the train to Malvern once. I fell asleep on the train and woke up just as the train pulled into Great Malvern station. In a hurry to get off I left my helmet on the seat next to me. By the time I realised the train was pulling out of the station. It was real nice Met helmet, cost over £100. I was gutted. I had to go to Back On Track cycles and buy a new 1. Whenever I get the train now I tie my helmet to my Camelback and keep one of the shoulder straps wrapped around my arm.

Forgotten my SPuD shoes before - now I leave a pair of flats in the bike box...

What? You gotta have a bike box to just pick up & throw in the car; with *almost* everything you need in it...
