There are 14 riders in a breakaway with an advantage of 4.30 after 30km.

Does anyone know how long and steep the ramp is at the end of the stage into Bologna?

Deignan and Gerrans of Cervelo are both in the break. Is Sastre planning to do something?

Grivko and Visconti of ISD are also in the break. Froome, Kiryienka, Cheula, Muller, Vorganov, Bonnafond, Bertogliati, Gavazzi, Reda and Petrov complete the line-up.

Pozzato has had such a crappy Giro! Combination of underperforming/bad luck I think... :?

The breakaway group has a 4 minute advantage. LPR are riding hard on the front of the bunch, presumably to set up Di Luca for the 20 second time bonus at the finish.

LPR keeping the break under 4 minutes and Lampre lined up behind Rabo, ready to take up the chase.
Classics parcours with the classics men's teams doing the graft.
    Day off for Rabo.

I've been thinking upon this. Wouldn't be a bad idea to let the jersey go and leave somebody else with the problem of marking, thus allowing Dennis to do what he does best, follow the top wheels......

I think LPR are going to need some help in order for this break to be shut down.

How far to go? Only been half-watching.

Gerrans and Visconti were both PTP picks for today.

Blimey so it is as bad as it looks on the profile! Should be cracking stuff. Suits Di Luca, although I'd like Visconti to get something - he has been in about four opther breakaways!

Looks like I'm going to be wrong.

Gap is down to 1.48 with 25km to go. LPR riding very strongly on the front.

Where's Jens Voigt? They said he was in the breakaway at the start of the Eurosport broadcast - can't see him there...? :?

That was a very early breakaway that got brought back.

LPR haven't been given any help and this break will get to the finish. Who do people fancy for the win?

Don't like Gerrans, would have preferred Froome. Wasn't nice to see him crack though. The elite guys are tough.

That hill though is almost as bad as the Mur de Huy! Lovely town by the looks of it.

Judging by the way Pellizotti was going on that climb Liquigas should have helped LPR bring the breakaway back.

    Good point.

Gerrans doesn't seem pleased by the football shirt!

Lance didn't finish in the top 40 unless I missed his name on the Eurosport graphic. That won't have improved his mood I'm sure.

^ He actually won the stage, but RAI are boycotting him, so put Gerrans' name first
