Look at all my recent posts.

Just bought one, not ridden more than a 10 min demo but it felt better than the others I tried at the price.

You can get for £550 from Square Wheels as well.

I ruled the Merlin out as I couldn't get to a shop to demo. A friend of mine who's been riding a few years said there are two bikes that would make him jealous if got them and they were the Core 20 and the Merlin Malt.

I've just bought a 2008 GT Avalanche 1.0 Disc from Pauls Cycles for 399..500 quid RRP, so youd save 100 quid.

I love it, feels worlds better than my old Carrera Vulcan. :D

Tora 289 - OK - better than most at the price
Shimano 575 - very mixed reviews. Scored high in WMTB but very low in MTBUK

I haven't had chance to get the brakes hot yet though so can't say. As for the fork they will more than do me, to sawn off pogo sticks would probably do me though!!

That I can't answer. I'm 5' 10" and the 17.5" is perfect for me but peoples bodies are all different, I seem to have relatively short arms and legs and a long torso.

I would try them out if you can or if you have to order into store then I guess you will have to take a punt.

Any 5' 11" Core riders out there?
  • I'm 5' 4" ( yes I am a girly !! ) and I have a 16 " Core 20 and I love it muchly :D
