mech hanger do i really need one?

hi im taking delivery of my focus black forest tuesday, im fairly new to mtb world so im just wondering if i really need a mech hanger?

    Is it a new bike? if yes then it will already be supplied with the bike

    Do you mean a spare mech hanger?

    If so worth getting one and carrying it on ride (IMO). That said I've yet to bust one :roll:

    yeah if you can get a spare do! you know other wise it'll break when your at the Furthest most extreme distance away from the car/nearest bike shop which when you get there wont have the part you ned anyways!
    i carried spares with me since i got this current frame and didnt need one untill last weekend when i pinged 2 in ten mins! (2nd one hadnt noticed the mech had shot over the stopper!!) fortunately was only a 10 minute push from home so managed to get back repair it and rejoin the group without missing out on much!

    defo worth carrying one as a spare! ( ihave one in the bag as a spare and one in the shed spare too!:wink:)
