I really wish Chris LS had used an adjective other than "silly" - it feels, well, a bit twee

The Mods can rename a thread but it would HAVE to start with an 'S' or else the whole SCR meme (ahem) goes out the window

Secret. For that is what it is.

I like that one. Although it's not really that secret.

The first rule of SCR is (not)....

Ok lets have a selection of Up to 10 S´s then you can do a poll and lets say next weekend we rename the topic with the winner?

Hmm - despite my original comment I don't think it should be changed with ChrisLS's say-so. I haven't seen him around for a while?

Nope! There is no SCR in Leeds (can't, of course, speak for anywhere else outside London!) - I'm a relative novice, I think I calculated my FCN to be about 12 or 14 and I'm almost never scalped. Most folk are probably too relaxed up here to bother racing (though I personally do get a feeling of satisfaction wafting noisly past a slick tyred racer on my knobblied MTB, laptop pack wobbling around on my back wearing my shabby old Ron Hills and Lidl jacket!).

"A rose by any other name..."

Call it what you like but - commuter racing with an elaborate points system? That will always be silly. (I don't mean that in a bad way.)

You inserted the silent 'Racing' there when it wasn't intended.

I literally meant JUST Silly Commuters and stuff the racing part :P

Good point! Mind you, there doesn't seem to be anything much else silly in the Leeds cycle commuting scene! It's all rather down to earth in a very Yorkshire sort of way - in Yorkshire, the S probably stands for sensible!

    Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?

I had to google it to get the spelling............

I do quite like secret as it kinda links in with the whole supposed "underground" theme, but I think we've well and truly blown our cover........

    Silly is perfect,

    Don't change the classics.
  • Well, isn't it already Secret Commuter Racing to those in the know?

I thought Silly Commuter Racing was just a clever misdirection to throw the hoi polloi off the trail.
