Wireless or wired computer?

Am replacing a Cateye Velo 5 which died (rain got in) but suited me just fine. I just missed the Aldi and Lidl specials.
For touring/leisure/commuting, with just basic functions (e.g. current speed, odometer, trip distance) is a wireless computer worth the bother?

What I really meant to ask was 'Is there bother?'. My limited experience of wireless anything suggests possible issues e.g. transmitter battery failing, interference etc. Maybe I trust a bit of wire more.

wires can have problems too, with cables getting damaged etc.
I wouldn't say one was clearly 'better' than another, but one is cheaper.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
I ha wired computer when bought my first bike. I replaced it with a wireless version and then bought another for my second bike. I would never go back to using a wired type. Never had a problem with set-up. On is a cheap Halfords, the other is a Cateye. Go on - buy one. You know it makes sense.0

Well, I got a new wired Cateye and, surprisingly, it still fits the old bracket so I don't need to tediously thread the lead around the brake cable again.

Just curious, what time is it in the UK? I thought UK & ROI were the same but here it's 18:37, and the forum says it's 17:37

I'm wireless all the way now.
Only issue I've found is with my Hope LED light on full power , it knocks out the signal.0 -

i wouldn't worry about missing the aldi/lidl stuff, they'll be back soon, though mine has suddenly decided to knock about 5% off the trip distance, which is a minor inconvenience0

The Cateye Strade Wireless is niiiice. Mounting bracket can attach to stem or handlebar and still be the right way up to read. Haven't had signal issues.
I wonder why a Light would knock out the wireless signal?!Wanna go for a ride?0
