Just had to let you know.

The new steed was delivered before I left for work this morning. A shiny new Giant Trance X2. How tempted was I to ditch work and just go out riding.

Just had time to straighten the handlebars, attach the pedals and remove the bell & reflectors. Can't wait to get out on it this weekend.

I expect to be looking a bit like this :D for the next while only muddier.

Now to amend the signature..............

Cheers

God no, don't tidy up the kitchen! Like to see a few dirty dishes in the sink and dog food on the floor

OK so it took me a while....(I accidentally washed my phone after a weekend at Llandegla) but here it is. Proof beyond doubt via the magic of the kitchen shot.

Absolutely loved it at LLandegla on the FS. I felt like I was attacking everything so much faster that on the GT as I had more confidence. It was refreshingly easy to climb with it (although the slowness is more likely to be down to my fitness than the ability of the bike).

Love it, Love it, Love it.

    Cheers & Beers

I was going to buy that exact same bike just this week
(theres a thread on here somewhere about it)

Wasnt overly keen on the low BB though. Have you taken it out yet over and rocky stuff?

    Lovely looking bike.

    Hi Mr Wu,

Only the red and black runs at Llandegla so far. Will take a while to get the rear shock set up just right but there was no concerns on the runs I did.

It just felt really secure, did what I wanted it to do and felt like it has so much more to give.

Once I take it to a few other more natural locations I may have a better idea but I don't think you would be dissappointed. Recommend you go and have a sit on one to check out sizing though.

I am 6ft and they recommend a Large but I went for the Medium 18" frame and it feels just right.

    Cheers,

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

I did try one out at my LBS, that why i was slightly concerned about the low BB. It just didnt sit right with me thats all, shame really cause its a gorgeous bike.

Did you try the anthem too?

nice bike mate throw a sickie!
got the trance x and don't really notice the low bb height (maybe cause i've come from an anthem which is lower!). ride mainly round the peak and done jacobs, rushup edge, cut gate etc, pedals rarely strike the terrain.
incidently, the giant startup guide was reasonably accurate for setting the rear shock, but way out for the fork setting (iirc said i would need about 100psi which resulted in pretty much no sag. in reality needed around 65 psi) so have a good play around with the pressures and enjoy :) 8)
