Which tyres?

Just lost confidence in the Specialized Pro Mondo tyres that came fitted to my Tarmac.
Half way round a 10mTT tonight I overcooked a corner on a damp road but am sure the tyres contributed to this as I wasn't going really fast. It also felt twitchy on the previous 2 corners. I was not far behind 2 other rides who got round fine. Anyway drifted off line to the side of the road then a big bang and into the verge. Kept it upright but cheesed off as I was going well!
Anyway any suggestions for fast rolling tyres which give some confidence in the wet. In the meantime I am putting some New old stock Cont GP3000 on which I have and the remaining Por Mondo is destined for the turbo trainer!

Michelin Pro3 are very good. I felt a lot more confident using these than Continentals. Conti's seem to have a more u shape to them rather than round.0

+1 for the Micheling Pro 3 Race. The grip/traction is second to none with these. Good safe tyre.Shazam !!0

I had these and they don't come close to PR3, cont gp4000 or even the gp3000.
Next time i get tyres i'm getting GP4OOOS because i find the regular gp4000 preferable to the PR3 so the 4000S version must be even betterwinter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

GP4000s here, pleased so far.
Mines were a bummer to fit on Easton EA50 wheelset, took two tyre levers per side to fit, plus what really worked was to ensure the nylon band was in the middle of the rim, at the deepest point.0 -
Thanks for all the replys.
I will get either Conti4000s or some Pro Race 3. Now to find the best prices!Still thinking!0 -
Merlin & Planet X are worth checking for these tyres.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Parkers have them for £25 eachCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0
