Have recently decided that i am going to renovate my old frame. It, has Columbus SL tubing and front forks built by former Dutch pro Piet van der lijker. The frame was made to measure for me and has been sitting in the shed for the last 5+years.The frame has the old fashioned down tube lever bosses, whereas the bikes of today and the last ten or more years have a different type of down tube boss which accomodates an adjusting barrel. My question is can you fit, or is there available a clip or boss which i can use on my old frame which could act as or accomodate an adjusting barrel. In simple terms i want to go with a new groupset but with my current set up have no down tube boss that accomodates an adjusting barrel. will this be a problem, does anyone have a solution. Have scoured the net but so far found nothing that helps.
