Good luck Dave,
Just go for it. I would suggest joining said club and sticking with the forum as a great way to learn from others and get you started. All the best,

I also got the Allez as my first road bike. Normally, when a make a big purchase, I find out that I could have got a much better model for the same money. But not in the case of my Allez. The smile it puts on my face every time I ride it is soooooo worth the money that I paid for the bike. And, there are a great many experienced riders on here who consistently claim that the Allez is the best road bike for the money.
Congratulations on your purchase and I wish you many happy miles on it.0 -

+1, mine will be 2 years old this August and I still love it. Now that you have got the bike, get ready to start spending proper money, clipless pedals and shoes, wheels and tyres, multiple pairs of bib shorts and tops, its endless0 -
haha yes exactly - im actually looking forward to buying lots of cool new stuff. im half way through fitting a computer, its all in place but nothings happening, maybe the magnet needs to be closer.
