Hi All from a total newbie,

I've pretty much decided that I'm going to take the plunge and buy a road bike to ease the load on my ageing runners knees.

I won't ask you all what bike to get to get but........what other kit is essential? Cost is a real issue so I don't want to get anything that isn't a must but will get the extras as and when I can afford it.

Here's my list, what would yours be.

Cheers.

Bike(!), helmet, pedals, shoes, spare tube, pump, lube, shorts/bib shorts.

Every time I think of a piece of essential kit the words 'track pump' jump up and push to the front of the line. So, track pump for me...
