Just thought I'd see what people thought about them?
...Personally I can't see the point, aggressive riders will destroy them in seconds (bend them or bust the bearings), non-aggressive riders will stick with their SPD's because they cost a small fortune and are comfortable and work well allowing force to be exerted both on down and up strokes.
Who will really use them? Can't see them being used at any decent trail because they'd just bend with the slightest contact of any rock!
...Thoughts?

They have proven to be tough, and light, but I don't like the way the end of the crank is more exposed.0

How tough have they proven and where's this proof? I just can't see them being half as tough with it being a flat bit of metal, one big impact and surely they would just bend?
Also agree about the crank arms, not so great if you've got a set of expensive cranks!0 -
I have read reviews in a mag and online. Have a google! Trying to bend them actually flexed the crank more than the pedal bent.
Plus being titanium they are tougher than alu or magnesium (ti is twice as stiff, and a lot harder)0 -
Oh, I didn't realise they were so expensive! Wow, £320, bit steep!
...The other thing I didn't get was the ground clearance issue... my cranks would hit a rock before my V8's would (the pedal is not as far protruding as the crank arms end), so how by having a flatter pedal have you got increased ground clearance? The crank arms are still going to be the same length and still hit a rock regardless of the pedals you use (unless they are real bricks). - Or am I not understanding this properlly?0 -
Yep, the price seals it for me! That is 10 pairs of MG1!0

Firstly, the price. £320!!!! Are they having a fecking giraffe??! (No offence cee! )
Next is the ground clearance thingy. I can see why, and totally understand how the improved ground clearance is a bragging right. Your crank arms aren't as wide as your pedals, and they (pedals) stick out alot further. So when you are leaning, there is less height. Also, a rock that is underneath the pedal, but not the crank arm is at risk of being battered less by a slimmer profile pedal. You see?
I'm not 'having a go' at anyone here, nor am I defending the pedal. It's bloody expensive!!Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
Fix it 'till it's broke0 -
Yes the extra ground clearance is gained while leaning the bike not whilst upright but for that price i would have to hitting a lot of rocks to convince me to swap - a new set of forks would come first, or a spesh on the fly seatpost..........0

I'd have a pair.... i they were a LOT cheaper.
Got to have specific crank arms though yeah? sod that, i'll keep my slim jims0 -
Would be an OK idea if you could just fit them to any cranks. A bit of a gimmick if you ask me.0

Yeah, like ten times cheaper!!!
Even so, you either need to mess your cranks up big style (big drill bit  ) or get a completely new set-up, so would cost around £500 to do!!!!
FOR SOME PEDALS!!!!
A royal rip-off... :evil:Boo-yah mofo
