i have built a carrera banshee frame which i find is to large for me. i changed the shock and was wondering how muc pedal clearance is ideal? the shock that was on it was roughly 8 inch eye to eye and now it it roughly 6 and a half. can anyone give me some advice? the pedal clearance is roughly 4 inches when the bike is stood up straight with the smaller shock

Advice would be not to mess with the specified eye-to-eye length for a particular frame.

How much clearance did you have before?
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

You will have drastically altered the biks geometrey and handling.

What you need is a new bike that fits. Sorry!

i wonder what happens when you sit on it?

sorry as sonic says you have the wrong sized frame.

If you can't afford another frame, then buy a super short stem, and shift your saddle as far forward on the rails as it will go.

    It could help enough!
