Right now I have a stock ( ) Diamondback ( ) Groove. Loving the frame actually, but clearly the components resemble a tramps dinner plate so what can I do?

The current specs are here: http://diamondback.co.uk/bikedetails.as ... 43&GID=527

I wont be buying anything now, as I'd like to give everything a good run first, but wont really want to spend hundreds and hundreds. First thing would probably be some new forks that would take a bit of riding, and that would last longer.

Thankss :)

    Yeah...but what? lol

I'm not sure which forks to go for, there are too many...don't really want to spend more than a hundred either.

Nothing shouts out that needs upgrading. Replace parts when they break.

I will...but I need to now what to. I have no clue where to look, I bought MBUK but they just seem to review the new and expensive gear. I would prefer to pay less than £100 but want some decent forks for when these do pack in, are there any decent sites I should be looing at?

Maybe some Toars if the forks pack in. Have a look at Merlin Cycles.

But seriously, just enjoy the bike. If you don't know what to upgrade then it is most likely it doesn't need doing and you won't feel any differences.

However tyres are often worth changing for lighter kevlar beaded models.

u wanna be changing the forks for something the same travel eg 120mm

check chain reaction they always have a sale they got rock shox darts for 50 quid i think, dunno what the travel is like or how good they are.

not sure u will get the performance youll want from 100 quid forks though

    buy cheap buy twice

    Cheers guys

Well before anything I need to take it back to the shop as I don't know what the guy has done, but the brakes are skipping like crazy now. I can't change out of gear 6 on the back and 2 on the front otherwise everything goes mental.

I think my forks have 120mm travel now, but they're RST Gila Pros. I'd just like to make a solid bike that I can trust :)

    Adjust the gears then ;-)

They do go out of synch over time, and is a skill that you need to learn.

The RST Gila PRO is not a bad fork at all, does have a hydraulic damping circuit.

This is the thing...I still don't know what half of these things are! I've been reading around trying to get to grips with everything, but still wouldn't even know how to adjust the gears.

It would be a lot easier if I could do these things myself.

The one little 'problem' with the fork I have is that there are two preload switches, one either side, the left one seems to turn like it should but the right turns about 3 times as many as the left. I was trying to set them up by rotating both preload switches all the way anti clockwise first, (like I think you said in another thread), but the right just kept on going until FINALLY reaching an end. So it's kind of hard to adjust those easily, because it would be uneven on one side.

    Thanks

EDIT: Going to have a go at aligning all the gears etc now, and just to say I DO love the fork that I have, it's just the preload setting is slightly worrying as it's hard to adjust and I wouldn't want it to be uneven.
